PROPOSED RECOMMENDATION

To extend the contract for the Supply of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables, and Dairy Products including Cheese.

BACKGROUND TO SUPPORT THE RECOMMENDATION

The current Supply of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables, and Dairy Products including Cheese contract established by the former County Council is due to expire at the end March 2024. The current contract allows for a two year extension.

A decision is being made to extend the contract from 1^st April 2024 until the 31^st March 2026. 

LEGAL AND GOVERNANCE COMPLIANCE

A Gateway 4 report will be considered in accordance with the Council’s Procurement and Contract Procedure Rules.

The contract extension will be undertaken by the Council’s Procurement and Contract Management and Legal and Democratic Services.

This is a key decision.  The proposal to extend the contracts was entered on the forward plan in August 2023.

RECOMMENDATION

That the extension for the Supply of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables, and Dairy Products including Cheese contract be approved.
